Loadouts & specializations

A kit is four independent layers: Talent, weapon class, Spec 1, and (later) Spec 2. Any weapon can sit on any standard class.

The four layers

  • Talent

Always on. Story characters keep a authored talent (Hawks’ Fearless Leader, Cly’s Combat Jump). Custom Operators pick from Universal Talents; Astromechs uniquely can take Built-In Comlink. Thievery and Espionage pay Credits and Intel on the strategy layer.

  • Weapon class

Longarm, Repeater, Rifle, or Pistol. Chosen separately from specialization.

  • Spec 1

The primary class. Changeable later for standard kits. Exotic specs stay locked to their owners.

  • Spec 2

Second class from the same list, unlocked mid-campaign. You cannot equip the same specialization twice.

Respec

Personnel in the Den’s Focus Tree tab handles both specializations and talents. Standard classes can be swapped freely. Tel-Rea cannot drop Jedi Padawan. Cly can move onto a standard class and still keep Combat Jump. Jae Mordant keeps her authored assist-style talent through respec.

Cosmetics versus stats

Deluxe weapon themes and syndicate tattoos do not change numbers. The Crystalline Astromech Pack is a visual droid set (R3, crystalline R4/R5 heads, exclusive BR-1).
